​About the Art and Artist:

​Amy has always been interested in art from an early age. She went to a liberal arts college in Chicago where she focused on jewelry, fashion and costume design.  It was there that she realized her passion for three dimensional art.  Graduate school for costume history in New York offered her a background in the history of art and to period styles throughout fashion and the decorative arts. It was there that she embraced the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau styles that can be seen in her work today. She discovered metal clay, an alternative to her earlier metalsmithing days and was set free to create by it’s metamorphic properties. She embraced this medium and had been making jewelry with it since she moved to the mountains of North Carolina.
