Nestled in the heart of western North Carolina, the Arts Council of Henderson County (ACOHC) is a beacon of cultural vitality. Since our inception in 1971, we have been committed to nurturing, advocating for, and promoting the arts in Henderson County and the surrounding regions.

Our Mission
​The Arts Council of Henderson County is a community organization that promotes, advocates for, and nurtures the arts in Henderson County and western North Carolina.

​At the ACOHC, we believe in the transformative power of the arts. Our mission is to support and promote the visual, performing, and literary arts in Henderson County. We are dedicated to:
Providing grants to individual artists, arts organizations, and schools to foster a thriving artistic community.
Offering programs and events such as workshops, exhibitions, and performances that celebrate and showcase the talent within our community.
Advocating for the arts and raising public awareness about the essential role of the arts in enriching our lives.
Building partnerships with other organizations, businesses, government agencies, and community members to amplify our impact.

Our History
Founded by passionate volunteers in 1971, the ACOHC has evolved into a cornerstone of the arts in Henderson County.
