It is with great sadness we report the passing of Jim Faucett, former Executive Director of the Arts Council from 2008 – 2011. Jim’s work for the Arts Council had a huge impact on our organization, and the local arts community in general…all for the better. Jim’s contributions were many, and included refocusing art exhibitions to include local and regional artists.

Doug Jarvis, who was Board President at the time and worked very closely with Jim, says “Jim’s insights, quiet sense of humor, and inner toughness, made him both very effective, and a pleasure to work with. In 30 years of management, I never encountered either a better manager, or a kinder human being. Wherever he is now, it is a better place for his being there.”

After leaving in 2011, Jim continued to be an active and contributing Arts Council member and volunteer, and we are thankful for all he did to strengthen and elevate the arts community in Henderson County.
